Carla represented fh2rail during a visit by NRW Minister Ina Brandes as the state announced a €60 million infrastructure funding commitment for FH Aachen.
On 15 June 2026, Carla was part of another major event at FH Aachen.
North Rhine-Westphalia’s Minister for Culture and Science, Ina Brandes, visited the university as the state presented a €60 million infrastructure funding commitment.
Carla was displayed during the visit, giving fh2rail the opportunity to represent student engineering alongside a major announcement concerning the future infrastructure of FH Aachen.
Projects like fh2rail show what students can achieve when theoretical engineering knowledge is combined with practical development.
Building a complete railway locomotive requires cooperation across mechanical engineering, electronics, software, automation and project management. The project allows students to work with real hardware, real constraints and real responsibility.
Having Carla present during the visit provided another opportunity to demonstrate this practical side of engineering education at FH Aachen.
